Two Sturgis men arrested

Two Sturgis men were arrested this week on drug-related offenses following an agency investigation.

A search warrant was executed at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 600 block of St. Joseph Street in Sturgis, where a several-weeks investigation led by Southwest Enforcement Team had been ongoing.

SWET officials said the investigation involved surveillance of a home known for drug activity. At the home, detectives encountered three men; two were arrested for possession of illegal drugs and maintaining a drug house.

The names of those arrested were not released by officials.

During their surveillance, detectives observed and documented several subjects conducting what appeared to be drug transactions. Uniformed officers made contact with some of those subjects leaving the drug house and four separate arrests were made from those contacts.

Each of the four arrests led to detectives obtaining a search warrant for drugs at the residence.
