More than 30 people last week picked up $50 gift cards and an entry into a drawing by receiving a COVID vaccine in White Pigeon.
Those who participated in Wednesday’s clinic were entered into a drawing to win a Play Station 5.
In addition, free hamburgers and hot dogs were available.
The event was organized by Kelly Hostetler, St. Joseph County United Way director. Hostetler said she was prompted to offer incentives due to the low percentage of vaccinated residents in St. Joseph County.
The four-hour session was done with the cooperation of the White Pigeon Fire Department, Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency, National Guard and United Way staff.
