Vickie Jean Austin, age 71, of Three Rivers, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 30, 2021 at her home. She was born on June 11, 1950 in Lansing, the daughter of the late Joseph and Jean (Harmon) McKenzie.
Vickie Jean graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1968. She worked for many years in the sales and retail service at Carl’s Jewelry. Vickie was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and JayCees. She was a faithful member of the Three Rivers Elks where Vickie will always be remembered for planning and decorating for the Elks Memorial and Christmas services.
Vickie was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Jean; her first husband, Ronald Hotovy; one beloved son, Ronald “Jay” Hotovy, and two brothers, Joseph and Patrick McKenzie.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory, her husband, Douglas Austin; one daughter, Nichole (Kenneth) Mosty, and their children, Tomas Jamie and Karin Mosty; one son, Chad Joseph Hotovy; one sister, Sharon (Edard “John”) English; two step children, Shane (Mark) Lowell-Queentry and Carman Austin; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 6, 2021 with Rev. James Smith officiating at the Hohner Funeral Home.
Interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Three Rivers.
Memorial donations may be left to St. Joseph County Animal Rescue Fund or the Three Rivers Elks Memorial Fund. Envelopes available at the funeral home.
