Berdiena Clark, 87

Berdiena “Berdie” Bell Clark, age 87, formerly of Centreville, passed away  on Monday, September 27, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Kalamazoo.   Berdiena was born in Wabash, IN on January 15, 1934, a daughter of Clarence and Esther (DeVore) Black.  She graduated from White Pigeon High School in 1951 and later attended Glen Oaks Community College.  Berdiena previously worked for Denton Mills (Eaton Corp.) in Centreville.

On September 27, 1963, she married Richard H. Clark in Centreville; he preceded her in death on February 2, 2018.  Berdiena enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, and reading.  She especially loved to study her Bible and teach at the church.  Berdiena, along with her husband Rich, were long time members of the Centreville United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her children Debra (Bob) Soule of Kalamazoo, Michael (Sue) Zeeb of New Carlisle, IN, Eric (Peggy) Zeeb of Port Angeles, CA, Randal (Carol) Zeeb of Angola, Sandi Clark of Centreville, Steven (Sharon) Clark of Centreville, Thomas (Linda) Clark of Baldwin, and Sally (Jake) Root of Burr Oak; 36 grandchildren; and 38 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers Richard Black and W. Dean Black.

Relatives and friends will be received on Sunday, October 3 from 1:30 to 3:00 PM with religious services following at 3:00 PM, all at the Centreville United Methodist Church with Pastor Joyce Vanderlip officiating.  Cremation will then take place and interment of ashes will occur at a later date in Prairie River Cemetery.
