Faye Jean Walker, age 97, of Sturgis, passed away Tuesday afternoon, September 28, 2002 at her home.
She was born April 2, 1924 in Coral, Michigan daughter of the late George and Pearl (Durst) Snow.
Mrs. Walker resided in Sturgis since 1954 coming from Greenville, Michigan. On July 16, 1949 she married Arthur C. Walker in Greenville.
With her husband and sons she owned and operated Walker-Bandholtz Paint Company in Sturgis for the past 66 years. During WWII she worked at Gibson Refrigerators in Greenville.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in White Pigeon and Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sturgis where she was active in the Altar Society. She was also a member of the Klinger Lake Country Club and the Sturgis Hospital Loan Guild. Mrs. Walker enjoyed working in her yard and had a passion for the game of Bridge.
She is survived by two sons: Richard Walker and Thomas (Holly Webb) Walker both of Sturgis; daughters-in-law: Kim Walker and Bonnie Walker both of Sturgis and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sons: Michael Walker, George Walker and Joseph Walker; four sisters: Margie, June, Shirley and Helen and three brothers: Bill, Vern and Dan.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M. Sunday at the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Rd. in Sturgis. A graveside service and burial will take place at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
