Rick Bibb, 69

James Richard “Rick” Bibb, age 69, of Sturgis, passed away Tuesday evening, August 31, 2021 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.
He was born April 16, 1952 in Sturgis, son of the late James and Melva (Wiser) Bibb.
Rick was a lifelong Sturgis resident and graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1970.
On July 27, 1974 he married Debra Sue Kuhn in Sturgis.
He retired from AT&T in Kalamazoo following several years of dedicated employment in the call center.
Rick was a member of the Radiant Life Church and the St. Joseph County Conservation and Sportsman Club both in Sturgis. He had a passion for fishing and enjoyed guns and shooting and working on automobiles and was a fan of NASCAR. Rick had hobbies he enjoyed but what he truly loved was time spent with family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years: Debra Sue; one daughter: Erika (Dwayne) Darwin of Sturgis; two sons: Pastor Ryan (Katie) Bibb of Sturgis and Pastor Evan (Kait) Bibb of Lansing; 10 grandchildren: Luke Pappas, Jadyn Darwin, Blake Darwin, Braylan Darwin, Olivia Bibb, Brayden Bibb, Gabriella Bibb, Morgan Velzen, Addi Bibb and Zoey Bibb; one sister: Tammy Bibb Williams of Missouri and one brother: Ron (Vickie) Bibb of Texas and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law: Clay Pappas.
In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating and honoring the life of James R. “Rick” Bibb will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the Radiant Life Church in Sturgis. Pastor Brandon Kinsey will officiate.
The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
