Sturgis Toy Run officials said the annual ride around St. Joseph County will not be held this year.
The cancellation marks the second consecutive year the Sturgis Toy Run is not taking place.
Traditionally staged the Saturday after Labor Day, the Toy Run is an opportunity for motorcyclists to bring toys and money to purchase items for children in need during the holidays.
Toy Run president Victor Hargett said the organization was unable to secure a property to rent. In addition, a shortage of staff and volunteers sealed the fate of the 2021 Toy Run.
The last Toy Run was held in 2019 at Cade Lake County Park and Campground in Sturgis. It was the 36th annual event.
