TR’s hydrant flushing has begun

The Three Rivers Department of Public Services has started its twice-a-year hydrant flushing.

DPS Director Amy Roth said flushing started last week and will continue through Oct. 8. Flushing will occur 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday during that one-month period.

Due to many variables, Roth said the department is not able to determine the exact date flushing will take place in each district. The process will start in the city’s First District, followed by Fourth District, continuing to the Second District and concluding in the Third District.

Roth advised residents of the potential for rusty water that may be experienced during this time. Prolonged problems should be reported to the DPS office at 273-1845.
