Man arrested after hiding from police

A Three Rivers man was arrested after authorities found him attempting to hide in a wooded area in Fabius Township.

Sheriff Mark Lillywhite said deputies located a suspicious vehicle parked around 3:30 a.m. Thursday in the 14000 block of M-60, just west of Three Rivers.

Several larcenies had been reported in the area over the past several months. Deputies investigated the parked car and eventually found the 25-year-old suspect in a nearby woods.

Authorities said the suspect was in possession of tools commonly used to steal catalytic converters. In addition, authorities found him also in possession of 2 grams of methamphetamine.

He was arraigned and charged with possession of methamphetamine. His name was not released, however, by the sheriff’s department.
