Nottawa sheds burned in fire

Two sheds were set on fire last week at a location in Nottawa Township.

Sheriff Mark Lillywhite said deputies were called around 1 a.m. Friday to the 60000 block of Railroad Street in response to buildings on fire.

Upon arrival, deputies saw the two shed-type structures fully engulfed. In addition, deputies found materials commonly used to start a fire inside a nearby third structure. Authorities concluded an attempt was made to start a fire in the third structure but the effort was unsuccessful.

Sheriff’s officials were aided by the Centreville Fire Department and the Sturgis Police Department.
