Serious injury in TR area crash

A Three Rivers man was injured in a two-vehicle collision Tuesday in Lockport Township.

Sheriff Mark Lillywhite said deputies were called at 9 a.m. to the intersection of M-86 and Neaman Road, just east of Three Rivers.

Investigators found that a Ford F-150 was heading west and came to a stop in order for traffic to clear before turning left onto Neaman Road. Meanwhile, a Honda Accord was also heading west on M-86 and its driver apparently did not see the stopped pickup.

The driver of the Honda, a 70-year-old Three Rivers man, drove into the rear of the pickup. The F-150 was being driven by a 45-year-old Sturgis man.

Authorities said the Honda veered off the right side of the roadway, striking an embankment and overturning. Its driver sustained critical injuries in the collision and was transported from the scene for medical treatment. The driver of the pickup was not injured.
