October’s unemployment rate in St. Joseph County decreased by seven-tenths of a percent from September.
The monthly labor-market analysis by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget was released recently. It showed St. Joseph County’s unemployment rate fell from 4.9 percent in September to 4.2 percent in October.
The rate was 5.4 percent 12 months earlier.
Meanwhile, Cass County experienced a drop in its unemployment figures from September to October. Its September rate was 4.7 percent and lowered to 4.1 percent a month later.
Also, Branch County’s one-month unemployment rate fell in September from the previous month. It was 5 percent in September and dropped to 4.3 percent in October.
Michigan’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for October was 6.1 percent, down from 6.3 percent in September.
