Multiple injuries in Cass County crash

Three people sought medical aid following a two-vehicle collision Sunday in Cass County’s Volinia Township.

Sheriff Richard Behnke said deputies were called at 10:40 a.m. to the intersection of Marcellus Highway and Decatur Road.

Investigators said the first vehicle was driven by Marcellus resident Christopher Cleveland, 36. Cleveland was traveling westbound on Marcellus Highway when a vehicle driven by ChenSheng Gua, 31, of Flushing, N.Y., pulled out from Decatur Road and into the path of Cleveland’s vehicle.

Gua’s vehicle had three additional occupants: GuiYun Liu, 40, of China; Xiaochong Wan, 42, of Flushing, N.Y.; and MaoSong Lin, 63, of Brooklyn, N.Y.

Investigators said Cleveland and Wan were transported to Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac, while Lin was taken to Ascension-Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo.
