Student-satisfaction survey at Glen Oaks

Results of a student-satisfaction survey were recently reviewed by the Glen Oaks Community College Board of Trustees.

Tammy Russell, executive director of institutional planning, assessment and research for the college, presented the findings. About 25 percent of Glen Oaks students participated in the survey.

Russell explained approximately 59,000 students across the nation participated in the Noel Levitz Student Satisfaction Inventory, which is designed to improve student retention.

The survey measures and compares students’ level of importance and satisfaction on 48 standard items and 10 custom items tailored to a specific school.

The college scored well on campus safety and campus services. Some areas that didn’t score as well were registration effectiveness and instructional effectiveness.

All areas of the survey showed improvement since the last evaluation in 2018.
