Threats result in school closings

Three Rivers and White Pigeon school districts were closed Friday due to potential threats.

Three Rivers Community Schools interim superintendent Nikki Nash said the district received information from Michigan State Police at 3:30 a.m. Friday of a threat at Three Rivers Middle School.

Nash also said Michigan State Police is aware of the school shooting copycat threats circulating nationwide on social media site TikTok.

White Pigeon Community Schools also were closed Friday due to a threat.

Associate superintendent Carrie Erlandson said a few students posted information on social media that concerned district officials.

The district was working with local law enforcement to investigate the threat that was made against White Pigeon Jr/Sr High School.
