Fuel theft in Florence Township

Sheriff Mark Lillywhite said deputies responded to a report of larceny earlier this week in Florence Township. Deputies responded at 1:30 p.m. Monday to the 18000 block of Banker Street, where fuel was reported stolen from farm equipment. The amount and value of the fuel was not disclosed in a department media release.

Centreville schools approve budget

Centreville Public Schools adopted a $9 million budget last week. Anticipated expenditures are about $400,000 more than what was spent in the 2020-21 budget year, which concluded June 30. St. Joseph County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of stolen property last week in Mottville Township. Sturgis City Commission members recently approved a bid to renovate restroom and locker facilities at Doyle Community Center.
