Robert Michael Colpetzer, 76 years old of Rocky Top, TN passed away peacefully on Dec. 27, 2021. He was born Sept. 5, 1945 to Edward and Margaret (Morning) Colpetzer in Constantine. He graduated from Centreville High School in 1963 and attended Western Michigan University. After graduating in 1968 with a Masters Degree in Industrial Education, he moved to Waukegan, IL and began his 17 year teaching career at Waukegan East High School. He was Chairman of the Industrial Arts Department from 1980 to 1985. He loved teaching, both high school students and adults, many becoming his lifelong friends. Bob was busy in the summers in Waukegan, as a charter boat captain, operating a fishing charter business on Lake Michigan.
After he and his wife moved to East Tennessee in 1989, he continued his love of woodworking by designing and producing many fine woodworking projects. Always a perfection in everything he did, he continued to share his knowledge of woodworking by having many of his original projects published in several woodworking magazines.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Joyce Colpetzer; daughters Julie (Dan) Chubb and Michelle (Brian) Kilgore; brother Thomas (Barbara) Colpetzer and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Margaret Colpetzer.
As per his request, he was cremated and no services were held.
