A Burr Oak Township woman was appointed to the St. Joseph County Transportation Authority Board last week.
During the county commission’s Jan. 18 meeting, Tina Cronkhite was voted to the seven-member board. An employee of Southern Michigan Bank & Trust, Cronkhite indicated in her citizen’s interest form that she would be an asset to the board based on her experience as a 16-year Burr Oak Township Board member, membership to the Centreville DDA Board and six years on the local United Way Board.
In a separate matter, it was announced at the Jan 18 meeting that a $5,000 grant was issued to St. Joseph County Animal Control.
An anonymous organization offered the grant, which is to be dedicated to spay/neuter services. County officials said this is not the first time the unidentified organization has provided financial assistance to the Centreville-based agency.
