Joey A. Linton, age 61, of Constantine, passed away at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 after a brief illness. Joey was born in Elkhart on April 4, 1960, a son of George Edwin and Mary (Conner) Linton. He graduated from Constantine High School in 1978 and went on to study business management at Ivy Tech. On May 31, 1986, he married Tammy Sue Garden in Three Rivers. Joey worked as a shipping supervisor for Optronics in Goshen for 20 years and previously for Elkhart Plastics. Joey enjoyed gardening and yard work, and was an avid Notre Dame and Detroit Tigers fan. He liked model trains and holiday decorating. He especially enjoyed taking walks with his dogs. Most of all, he was the ultimate husband, father, and provider for his family, whom he adored.
Surviving are his mother Mary Linton of Constantine, wife Tammy Sue Linton of Constantine, daughter Krystal (John) Brown of Sturgis, son Rusty Allen Linton of Constantine, grandchildren Lillian and Madylin Brown, brother Steve (Pat) Schmidt of Elkhart, sister Cindy (Randy) Mann of Mottville, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends will be received at Eley Funeral Home in Constantine on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, from 4 to 6 PM, with a memorial service starting at 6 PM. Pastor Justin Wickey of Grace Christian Fellowship, Sturgis will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to the family to assist with final expenses.
