Planning continues for Water Festival

Plans are coming together for the 65th Three Rivers Water Festival.

The 2022 event, a three-day celebration, starts June 16 and is the first of St. Joseph County’s eight community festivals.

An additional event, the Soap Box Derby, will return June 19.

After considering several options, Water Festival Committee members selected the theme for this year’s event: “The Roaring Twenties.” Committee members felt the theme is familiar to most, which would allow participants in the parade to come up with creative entries.

The Water Festival will feature many returning favorites, including the annual kick-off parade, Kids Zone, the popular Car Show, a 5-K/1-mile fun run, the Arts and Crafts Show in Scidmore Park, food vendors, a concert followed by the event-ending fireworks display.

Continuing updates are available at the Three Rivers Water Festival Facebook page, as well as online at trchamber.com.
