Gretchen Fink, 81

Gretchen Lucille Fink, age 81, of Sturgis, passed away Sunday afternoon, February 13, 2022 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing.
She was born June 8, 1940 in Decatur, Indiana daughter of the late William and Clarice (Gilbert) Yake.
Gretchen was a lifelong Sturgis resident and a graduate of Brighton High School in Brighton, Indiana with the class or 1958.
On June 24, 1962 she married Robert Fink, Jr. at the Pretty Prairie United Methodist Church in Howe, Indiana.
Gretchen retired from the Kirsch Company in Sturgis following 39 years of dedicated employment.
She was a longtime active member of the Pretty Prairie United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Women’s Club. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, bird watching, camping and watching the HGTV. Gretchen loved time spent with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by one daughter: Renee (Jeff VanBuren) Fink of Lansing; one son: James (Debbie) Fink of Sturgis; four grandchildren: James Fink, Jr. of Mesa, Arizona, Angela (Matthew) Nolty of Chesapeake, Virginia, Kristol (Roland) Flowers of Sturgis and Mindy (Jake Cahoutte) VanBuren of Grand Rapids; 10 great grandchildren: Alissa, Erika, Zaber, Khyla, Tony, Gabriella, Alayna, Dani, Sammy, Brad and Braxton and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; great grandson: Roland Flowers, II; two sisters: Mahilda Notestine and Thelma Lego and brother: Ronald Yake.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, Feb. 21st at the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Rd. in Sturgis. Funeral services celebrating the life of Gretchen L. Fink will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, Feb. 22nd at the Pretty Prairie United Methodist Church, 4595 E 750 N, Howe, Indiana. The Rev. Khristian “Ed” McCutchan will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at the Pretty Prairie Cemetery.
