United Way sets new fundraising record

The St. Joseph County United Way 2022 campaign set a new record in terms of funds raised.

Executive director Kelly Hostetler said the 12-month campaign raised more than $1.2 million. The goal for this year’s campaign, which closed Jan. 31, was about $1,060,000.

Hostetler said 2022 honorary chairs Jeff Bloomfield and Garrett Hall were key figures in the success of this year’s campaign.

This year’s total was about $200,000 more than the 2021 campaign.

Top 10 contributors were recognized throughout the event. Morgan Olson came in first with $212,723 raised.

In order, the remaining Top 10 donors were TH Plastics, American Axle, Burr Oak Tool, city of Sturgis, Three Rivers Health, Sturgis Public Schools, Sturgis Hospital, Kadant Johnson and Meijer.
