Brian Ray Hart, age 65, of Burr Oak, passed away Saturday evening, March 12, 2022 at his home.
He was born February 21, 1957 in Sturgis, son of the late Kenneth and Carolyn (Besser) Hart.
Brian resided in the Sturgis and Burr Oak area his whole life and was a member of the Sturgis High School class of 1976.
He had been employed by Oak Press in Sturgis for 16 years. He had also worked at Marty Hart Auto Body, Jack Frohriep Body Shop, the Patterson’s Supper Club and the Holiday Inn, all in Sturgis.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sturgis, the Amateur Radio Club and the N.R.A. Brian enjoyed working on tractors and fishing and loved time spent at his cabin in Baldwin.
He is survived by one brother: Marty (Carolyn) Hart of Sturgis; four nieces: Shandre (John) Delle of Mendon, Marisa (Brett) DeGroff of Okemos, Nicole Hart of Sturgis and Krista Hart a student at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor; one nephew: Brett Tubbs; several great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews and many aunt, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister: Cheryl L. (Hart) Rodriguez.
In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate the life of Brian Ray Hart will take place from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St. in Sturgis. Private burial will take place at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis at a later date.
