Gary Martin, 78

Gary V. Martin, age 78, of Sturgis, passed away Saturday afternoon, March 26, 2022 at his home.
He was born April 13, 1943 in Saginaw, son of the late Victor and Beatrice (Dickman) Martin.
Gary resided in Sturgis since 1990, coming from Elkhart. His early life was spent in Saginaw where he was a graduate of Saginaw High School. He furthered his education at Michigan Technological University in Houghton where he earned a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering.
In December of 1989 he married Vicky Kearny in Elkhart.
Most of Gary’s working life was in electrical engineering and he had been employed by Oak Products in Sturgis.
Gary enjoyed working in his yard and was a talented woodworker. He was very involved in Ham Radio and for 19 years hosted an annual radio operator get together at his home.
He is survived by his wife and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and aunts and uncles.
In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
