Goldie Mae Anthony, age 85, of Burr Oak, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born March 11, 1937 in Battle Creek, a daughter to the late Claude and Elma I. (Shaver) Williamson.
On Feb. 7, 1953 in Battle Creek she married Frank E. Anthony Jr. He preceded her in death Jan. 15, 1996.
She had been employed for many years as a cook in the kitchen of Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis. She enjoyed fishing with a cane pole, camping, and spending time with her family and grand, great-grand, and great-great-grandchildren.
Surviving are 5 children: David Anthony, Judy (Don) Johnson, and Todd Anthony all of Burr Oak, Chuck (Connie) Anthony of Coldwater, and Jeffrey E. Anthony of Sturgis; 6 grandchildren: Angela Reagan, Franklin Johnson, Nick Anthony, April Stallard, Jeffrey L. Anthony, and Nicole Anthony; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Also her best friend: Bonnie VanAvery of Sturgis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a granddaughter: Melissa Johnson, and 2 brothers.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Monday, at the Rosenberg Chapel, 807 E. Chicago Rd., Sturgis, MI 49091.
Services celebrating the life of Goldie Mae Anthony will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Stanley, Church of the Stone, officiating. Interment and graveside service will follow in Burr Oak Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be directed to the family and envelopes are available at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes who have been entrusted with the arrangement
