Branch County Sheriff’s deputies took Dylan Brand, 25, into custody last Saturday on a warrant for armed robbery of a woman at her home near Bronson Oct. 22.
The Sturgis resident also faces charges of home invasion, a 20-year offense, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. The charge is a life felony with a two-year minimum mandatory sentence.
Brand allegedly came to the victim’s back door in her garage, put a handgun to her face and demanded access to her safe. She thought it was a prank and pushed the gun away.
The assailant then allegedly put the gun to her temple and demanded to know where the safe was located. She told him there wasn’t one. He reportedly held the gun on her while searching the house before taking her purse and fleeing.
Branch County District Judge Brent Weigle ordered a $100,000 bond with preliminary proceedings set March 15 and 22.
