Rev. Delores Irene Green, age 84, of White Pigeon, passed away late Tuesday evening, March 29, 2022 at her home.
She was born May 12, 1937 in Harlan County, Kentucky daughter of the late Earl and Ella Mae (Whitson) York.
Pastor Green resided in the Sturgis and White Pigeon area since 1989, coming from Jackson, Michigan.
On August 22, 1953 she married The Rev. Lawrence M. Green in Indiana. He preceded her in death February 6, 2021.
She and her husband were ordained in the Pentecostal Church of God in Dallas, and pastored together for 50 years. She also owned a publishing company and a cleaning company.
She was a member of Life in Christ Ministries in Battle Creek and had served on the Alba Public Schools Board of Education. Mrs. Green also published a wild game cookbook.
She is survived by two sons: Larry (Lee Ann) Green of Saginaw and Ronald (Crystal) Green of Mount Morris; two daughters: Connie White of White Pigeon and Laronda (Terry) Groner of Fort Wayne; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one brother: Phillip (Elva) York of Mansfield, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; daughter: Cheryl Markham. Grandson: David Ray Green; granddaughter: Andrea Irene Green; brother: Jerry York and infant sister: Vicky York.
A graveside service and burial will take place at 1:00 P.M. Monday, April 4th at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis. The Rev. Dr. Daniel Martineau of Life in Christ Ministries of Battle Creek will officiate.
The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
