Three Rivers considers Nash for permanent superintendent

One of the three vacant school superintendent positions in St. Joseph County could soon be filled.

Three Rivers Community Schools plans to interview Nikki Nash next week for the post. She has served as interim superintendent since Ron Moag vacated the position last fall.

Board members appear poised to bypass a search process and interview Nash next Monday as the only candidate for consideration.

Board president Erin Nowak said the process would then be followed by a community meeting in which the public is invited to pose questions to the longtime Three Rivers Community Schools employee.

The deadline to submit questions is Monday morning.

Nowak conceded the likely pool of candidates at the moment is not strong, as two other local districts and more than two dozen school systems statewide are without a permanent superintendent.
