Update from the Community Health Agency

The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency is reporting that on Feb. 25, the CDC updated guidance for the general population regarding wearing masks indoors, as well as the requirement for facemasks on school buses and vans.

These changes come as a result of the drop in COVID-19 cases in the country. Masks are no longer required on buses or vans operated by public or private school systems.

Meanwhile, the guidance for wearing a mask indoors is tied to the current level of community transmission.  The level for each county can be found on the CDC webpage.

Branch, Hillsdale, and St. Joseph counties are currently in the medium category.  The CDC has outlined prevention steps to take based on this level.

  1. These changes come as a result of right wing politicians who promise to cut much needed healthcare funding if data driven safety measures remain in place. And that threaten jobs of local healthcare professionals who continue to favor science over popularity.

  2. Once again government departments toss out science in favor of political feelings.
