Lawn ornament stolen in Park Township

Michigan State Police troopers are investigating the larceny of a seven-foot-tall sasquatch lawn ornament from a residence in Park Township.

The incident occurred on or after March 22 on West End Road, near Heimbach Road.

Investigators said the lawn ornament is made of sheet metal material and is rusty-brown in color with various sharp edges to detail fur.

It appears the ornament was cut away from a steel post with the aid of a pair of bolt cutters or similar cutting instrument.

Area residents told authorities a white panel van with dark driver and passenger side windows was observed parked in the area March 22. The van was observed turning around in the victim’s driveway and leaving the scene northbound toward Heimbach Road.
