Lions Club names Citizen of the Year

The Three Rivers Lions Club has named Lion John Bippus as recipient of the 2022 Bruce C. Snook Citizen of the year.

Since 1965, the Lions Club has recognized persons who, through a commitment to service, have given unselfishly of themselves for the betterment of the community.

In keeping with this tradition, Bippus will receive his honor during a public banquet May 16.

Bippus has been a Lion for eight years. As Citizen of the Year, he follows in the footsteps of his parents, who were elected Citizens of the Year in 2012.

Next month’s banquet honoring Bippus starts at 6 p.m. at Pine View Golf Course. Dinner is at 6:30 and features a program with presentations by several speakers. Tickets are $25 per person and are on sale at Ridgeway Floral in Three Rivers, or by contacting Julie Mayuiers at 254-1938.

No tickets will be available at the door.
