Lions offer trades career scholarship

The Three Rivers Lions Club has established a new scholarship in memory of the wife of a longtime club member.

Lion Dave Miller’s wife, Denise, passed away in late February. Using donations in her memory, club members decided to create a new scholarship designated for a Three Rivers High School senior who plans a career in the trades.

This unique scholarship for $1,500 will be awarded to a student planning a career in such fields as automotive, aviation, computers and technology, cosmetology, culinary arts, health and medical care, nursing, skilled trades, or tourism/travel/hospitality.

Applications are available in the Three Rivers High School’s guidance office. The deadline for submitting the application is April 22.
