Rotary raising funds for Ukraine

Three Rivers Rotary Club is in the midst of a fundraiser, with proceeds to benefit Ukraine Emergency Relief in its conflict with Russia.

Club president Jeff Middleton said the $5,000 goal is being called “The Ukrainian Challenge” and is open to the public, not just Rotary members.

He said donations, whether the goal is met or not, will be turned over to the civic group’s International Emergency Relief Fund. Donations are tax-deductible and Middleton confirmed the cause is legitimate, not a scam.

The Three Rivers Club is putting $2,000 from its own coffers into the fund. If the $5,000 amount is raised, local Rotarian Phil Hoffine has agreed to match his own $5,000 to the cause.

Checks can be mailed to Box 245, Three Rivers.
