Amy Petrous, 46

Amy L. (Cross) Petrous, age 46, of Gibsonia, Pennsylvania and former resident of Sturgis, passed away Saturday afternoon, May 14, 2022 at her home in Gibsonia.
She was born November 30, 1975, in Sturgis, the daughter of Linda (Bradford) Gates, the late Roger A. Cross, and Dennis E. Gates.
Amy graduated with a teaching degree from Western Michigan University in 1999. Amy resided in Gibsonia since 2006 coming from Sturgis.
On Aug 2, 2003 She married Andrew Petrous in St. Claire Shores, Michigan.
Amy devoted her life to her children and family, leaving her position as a teacher when her first child was born. Amy had a love for life and was quick with a smile or joke. Her favorite activities were camping and swimming with her family.
She is survived by her husband: Andrew; two sons: Cooper Petrous and Evan Petrous of Gibsonia, Pennsylvania; mother: Linda Gates of Centreville, three brothers: Brian (Hollye) Cross and their daughter: Kennedy, Thomas (Mandy) Cross and Ryan (Sue) Cross and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather: Dennis E. Gates and father: Roger A. Cross.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. Sunday at the Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St. in Sturgis where funeral services celebrating the life of Amy L. Petrous will immediately follow the visitation at 3:00 P.M. Sunday. Pastor Don Smith of the Firm Foundation Church in Centreville will officiate. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will follow the services. Private interment of the remains will take place at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
