Constantine man receives 6 month sentence

A Constantine man was sentenced to six months in jail for molesting a teen-age girl in 2020.

Ollie McKinnie, 55, of Constantine, was sentenced by Circuit Court Judge Paul Stutesman for molesting a then-15-year-old girl at McKinnie’s home.

McKinnie, a friend of the victim’s mother, admitted to assault with intent to commit second-degree criminal sexual conduct. Stutesman said there would be no value in putting McKinnie on probation, as he already is on the sex-offender registry.

Court officials said there were several allegations of misconduct, but the only one McKinnie admitted was rubbing medication on the girl while she was talking on her cell phone. The girl recorded video of the activity.

The girl, now 17, presented a private victim impact statement to Stutesman.

The teen was removed from her home by Child Protective Services and later returned to relatives. She was then placed in foster care.

Stutesman urged the victim to obtain a personal protection order against McKinnie.
