Sharon Alice Rutz of Marcellus, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2022 at the age of 85.
Sharon was born in Petoskey on October 3, 1936 to Grace and Forrest Molineaux.
Her parents were educators within the Michigan state school system. Through their various job postings she was lucky enough to claim several childhood hometowns throughout Michigan with fond memories of each. She graduated from Vicksburg High School and attended Ferris State University.
In May 1962 she married Stuart Rutz (predeceased) and moved to Marcellus, where they raised their family and enjoyed their retirement.
Sharon enjoyed quilting, swimming, traveling, family and early morning walks with friends around Big Fish Lake. She was a regular volunteer at Cass County Council on Aging and enjoyed many years of fellowship as an active member of the Marcellus United Methodist Church.
Sharon is survived by two sons, Steven (Helen) Rutz of Silver Spring, MD and Christopher (Li) of St. Joseph; four grandsons; and three sisters, Debora, Susan and Jean Molineaux.
Sharon was preceded in death by her siblings Permelia Hulse and Stuart Molineaux.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00pm. Monday, May 16, 2022 at the Mater-Ralston Funeral Home, 52780 M-40 North, Marcellus. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am. Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at the Marcellus United Methodist church with Pastor Andy Abrams officiating. Burial will follow at Marcellus Bly Cemetery.
