Vasile Pietrariu, age 68, of Sturgis, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2022 at his home.
He was born November 16, 1953 in Marginea, Suceave, Romania son of the late Ion and Raveca (Malos) Pietrariu.
Most of Vasile working life was in manufacturing companies.
He was a member of the St. Elias Eastern Orthodox Church in Battle Creek, and he loved fishing.
Vasile is survived by his children: Cristina Pietrariu of Sturgis, Rodica Hompoth of Clinton Township, Derek Alexander of Howe, Indiana, Cristian Pietrariu of Sturgis and Adrian Pietrariu of California; several grandchildren and former wife: Aurelia Pietrariu of Sturgis.
He was preceded in death by his parents and step-son: Florin Gavril Olarean.
In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. No services are planned at this time. Private burial of the remains will take place at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis at a later date.
The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
