Walter Alois Stark, age 97, of Sturgis, passed away Friday morning May 20, 2022 in Three Rivers.
He was born May 17, 1925 in Alpena, son of the late Walter Albert and Elizabeth Marie (Neumann) Stark.
Mr. Stark resided in Sturgis since 1954. Prior to coming to Sturgis he lived in Alpena, Lapier and Jackson.
On May 3, 1947 he married Geraldine Marie Carr in Alpena. She preceded him in death November 19, 2017.
Walter truly enjoyed working and retired from Precision Speed in Sturgis at the age of 95.
He was a member of the Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sturgis.
Mr. Stark was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a radio operator aboard ship earning the rank of Radioman Second Class.
He is survived by two daughters: Susan Ann Revitte of Grand Rapids and Kathy Marie (Roger) Kuhl of Jackson; one son: Stephen Michael (Patti) Stark of Sturgis; seven grandchildren: Lisa Revitte, Thomas (Karen) Revitte, Max (Jennifer) Kuhl, Adam (Karen) Kuhl, Tyler (Stephanie) Stark, Emily (Christopher) Landess and Andrew (Kyleen) Stark; 15 great grandchildren; one brother: Jerry Stark of Midland and several nieces and nephews.
Walter Stark was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two grandchildren: Jeff Michael Kuhl and Kimberly Ann Kuhl and son-in-law: Thomas Revitte.
In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial graveside service and burial of the remains will take place at 11:30 am, July 16th, at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis. The Rev. Father Andrew RaRaczkowski of Holy Angels Catholic Church will officiate. Full military honors will be conferred by Captain John J. Kelley Post #1355 VFW and the U.S. Navy Honor Guard.
