Beatrice Loker, 95

Beatrice L. Loker, age 95, and formerly of Mendon, died Monday, June 20, 2022 at Bowman House in Three Rivers. She was born in Three Rivers on May 22, 1927 the daughter of John N. and T. Ellen (Williams) Stephenson. After graduating in 1945, she was married to Dale R. Loker on May 24, 1945. He died eight years to the day of Beatrice’s passing.

Beatrice loved the Lord and dedicated her life to quietly helping others. She was a homemaker, and worked briefly at Denton Mills, the St. Joseph County Extension office, and the Assessor’s office. She was a hard worker, always working in the garden, canning and freezing produce, and sewing for family and friends. She adored her grandchildren and was always willing to assist in their care.

Beatrice is survived by a son, Doug (Kathy) Loker of Three rivers; a daughter, Patricia (John) Jones of Vonore, TN; five grandchildren, Chris (Lisa) Loker, Matt (Tera) Loker, Melissa Laden, Jennifer (Colby) Hawk, and Andrew (Stephanie) Jones; thirteen great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Laura (Ron) Hagenbarth; and many nieces, nephews and in-laws. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale; seven brothers; and three sisters.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am Saturday, June 25, 2022 at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. Funeral services will begin at 11 am Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Fred Goebert officiating. Burial will be in Poe Cemetery in Newberg Township. Memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of one’s choice.
