Centreville hires two teachers

Centreville’s board of education this week hired two new teachers.

Carly Miller is in the process of securing her teacher credentials and in the meantime will oversee high school science. Narissa Ross, meanwhile, will serve as K-12 special education teacher. She comes from Sturgis Public Schools, where she worked 11 years.

Also Monday, the board approved a three-year contract for Superintendent Chad Brady effective with the start of the 2022-23 academic year. His first-year salary will be $125,000, board president Jeff Troyer said.

In a matter unrelated to staffing, the board also approved renewing the district’s contract with Chartwells for food services for 2022-23. The board also approved the installation of a privacy fence at the north end of the elementary school between the school parking lot and an adjacent residence on Dean Street.
