Constantine reviews SJAC agreement

The Constantine Village Council this week reviewed a St. Joseph Ambulance Consortium agreement involving 18 local municipalities.

The agreement is for Burr Oak, Colon, Constantine, Fawn River, Florence, Leonidas, Mottville, Nottawa, Mendon, Sherman, Sturgis and White Pigeon townships, and the villages of Burr Oak, Centreville, Colon, Constantine, Mendon and White Pigeon.

It states the SJAC board will consist of one representative from each municipality and meetings will take place quarterly.

A schedule of charges between the SJAC and LifeCare Ambulance is in place. It includes $825 for advanced life-support transfer; $665 for basic life-support transfer; $1,180 for specialty-care transport; $620 for treatment but no transport and $157 for patient evaluation.

Council member Kenda Cartagena represents the village in the consortium.

The Constantine Village Council has not yet approved the SJAC agreement.
