Rose Bohyer, 76

Rose Marie Bohyer, age 76, of Coldwater, and a longtime former resident of Colon, passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 7, 2022 at Promedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.
She was born January 20, 1946 in Hoboken, New Jersey.
Rose resided in Coldwater for just the past few months coming from Long Lake in Colon where she lived for many years.
On April 10, 1962 she married the love of her life, Rodney R. Bohyer in Newport, Rhode Island. He preceded her in death November 12, 2021.
Rose was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker and had been employed by Thurston Woods Village as a nurse’s aide and had worked as a cook at the Corner Café both in Sturgis.
She enjoyed bowling, fuzzy art, coloring books and playing Pogo on her phone. While Rodney was serving in the U.S. Navy she arranged youth activities at the various naval bases where they were stationed.
She is survived by one son: Rodney Bohyer, Jr. of Columbia, South Carolina; one daughter: Laurie Allen of Sturgis; seven grandchildren: Jeff Belote, Jennifer Shephard, Crystal Dell, Wade, Jessikah and Mandi Allen and Gage West; several great grandchildren; one brother: Rick Welch; two sisters: Barbara Baber and Laura Botelho; her best friend: Mary Deal of Sturgis and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Rodney R. Bohyer, and daughter: Ronda Belote and sister: Rita Watson.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Monday at Gracepoint Baptist Church in Sturgis where funeral services celebrating the life of Rose Bohyer will immediately follow the visitation at 11:00 A.M. Monday. The Rev. Greg Long will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
