Scott Chiddister, 56

Henry Scott Chiddister, age 56, of Sturgis, passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 13, 2022 at Elkhart General Hospital.

He was born May 27, 1966 in Sturgis, son of Henry “Hank” and Bonnie (Reingardt) Chiddister.

Scott resided in Sturgis for the past 1 ½ years. Most of his life was lived in Constantine where he was a graduate of Constantine High School with the class of 1984. Scott furthered his education at the General Motors Institute in Flint where he earned a Bachelor degree in Engineering, majoring in mechanical engineering and minoring in electrical engineering.

On August 17, 1996 he married Teresa Almasi in Constantine.

For the past five years Scott was employed by the Actia Corporation in Elkhart as a engineering product manager.

Scott truly loved his home in Sherman Township where he had many future retirement plans. He was happiest while working on the property and had planted so many different fruit trees and berry bushes including apple trees, peach trees, pecan trees, blueberry, raspberry and honey berry bushes. He had a real appreciation for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and shooting.

He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife: Teresa; one daughter: Stephanie (David White) Blue of Bryan, Ohio; two sons: Seth Chiddister and Brandon Chiddister both of Sturgis; three grandchildren: Aaliyah Blue and Colton and Cayleigh White; parents: Hank and Bonnie Chiddister of Constantine; sister: Staci (Harry) Carter of South Bend; nephew: Jadyn Carter and niece: Amanda Carter.

In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of life of Scott Chiddister will be held at the family home at a later date to be announced.

The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.

The family suggests those wishing to make a memorial donation in Scott’s memory consider the charity of one’s own choice.
