Donna Breece-Cole passed away on June 24, 2022 at the age of 91.
Donna will be lovingly remembered for her optimistic outlook, her well documented travels, and the way she generously shared her musical talents.
Born in 1931, Donna grew up and attended school in Sturgis, including her elementary years within a one room school house. She married Lloyd Breece in 1951 and together they moved to Redford, Michigan to work and to raise their family.
Donna was a music teacher to the neighborhood children, had piano and accordion concerts at her home, and regularly performed at multiple senior homes in Westland, Livonia, Sturgis, Centreville and Port St Lucie, Florida areas. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and playing cards. Donna was devoted to her church and in addition, was a Lutheran school secretary in her later years. She enjoyed traveling and staying at her Florida condo during the winters.
Donna was a devoted wife of the late Lloyd Breece for 45 years, and the late Ernie Cole for 20 years. The loving mother of Donald Breece, Annette (Vince) Mifsud, and Kenneth Breece. Cherished grandmother of Annie, Elizabeth, Renee (Thomas), Rosemary (James), Audrey, Blayne (Brittany), Nicholas, and Drew. Great grandmother of Vincent, Soloman, Jack, and Colton. Sister of Howard (Norma) Lewis, Diane (the late Rich) Coller and the late Eileen Davidson, and Elaine Weaver. Daughter of the late Walter and Edna Lewis. She will be deeply missed by her many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In state Monday, July 11th, 11 am followed by the 12pm Funeral Service at Garden City Presbyterian Church. A short graveside service will held Tuesday, July 12th, 11:30 am at Prairie River Cemetery in Centreville.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Alzheimer’s Association.
