Homer Neal Collins, age 82, of Three Rivers, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2022 at Rose Arbor Hospice.
He was born on January 1, 1940 in Jonesville, Va., the son of Tilman and Roxie (Spurlock) Collins.
Homer was a longtime resident of Three Rivers who retired from General Motors. He liked to repair watches, refrigerators and lawnmowers, plus tinker around with anything he could find.
On November 29, 1972 he married Aletha, whom he met while working at Xerox Corporation. The couple very much enjoyed fishing together, and shared nearly 40 years of marriage prior to her passing on June 14, 2012.
Remaining to cherish Homer’s memory are his daughter, Danelle (Steve) McGilton of Fremont, Ohio; son, Jeff Collins of Fremont, Ohio; brothers, Eugene and Daniel Collins; sister, Freda Phipps; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Thomas Collins; brother, Floyd; and five sisters, Martha Jean, Cory, Ella Mae, Judy and Gladys.
A visitation will be held Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold St., Three Rivers. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Ed Ross officiating. He will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery.
