Marjorie Hamminga, 87

Marjorie Jean Hamminga, age 87, of Mendon, died Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at her home. She was born in Nottawa Township on February 23, 1935 the daughter of LaVerne and Margaret (Simpson) Timm, and was a lifetime resident of St. Joseph County. She graduated from Mendon High School with the Class of 1953. Marjorie was married to Henry Hamminga on June 6, 1953 in Centreville. She was employed at the Kirsch Company in Sturgis for 35 years, and later was the proprietor of the Tasty Nut Shop in White Pigeon from 1986 to 2021. The was a former 4-H leader, member of the Mendon Band Boosters, and member at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Centreville.

Marjorie is survived by two daughters, Jean (Max) Webster and Linda (Larry Lash) Hochstetler both of White Pigeon; two grandsons, Mason Webster of White Pigeon and Mitchell Webster of Hamilton. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry in 1992; two brothers, Roy and LaWayne Timm; and two sisters, Lucille Lester and Mildred Buchner.

The family will receive friends from 11 am to 1 pm Saturday, July 23, 2022 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Centreville. Services will begin at 1 pm Saturday at the church with Rev. Robert Sassaman officiating. Burial will be in Nottawa Cemetery. It is suggested that memorial contributions be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Roofing Fund.
