Mike Pierson, 78

Michael G. Pierson, age 78, of Three Rivers, died Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo. He was born in Three Rivers on Aug. 18, 1943 the son of the late Francis and Alice (Johnson) Pierson. He was a graduate of Three Rivers High School, and served in the National Guard, and worked briefly at Three Rivers Rubber Company. Mike worked for General Motors for over thirty-six years, first in Kalamazoo, then transferring to American Axel in Three Rivers. Mike enjoyed all sports, and served as President of the Three Rivers Sports Boosters. He played in church softball leagues, was a Detroit Tigers fan, and was a season ticket-holder for Michigan State football. He was recognized by the American Red Cross for being an eighteen-gallon blood donor over his lifetime.

Mike was married to Caryn June Siegel on May 1, 1976 in Three Rivers. Caryn passed away on April 16, 2022. He is survived by a son, Jonathan Pierson of Three Rivers; a daughter, Jaclyn (Reggio) Blackwell of Aurora, IL; two very special grandchildren, Alina and Wyatt; and by his brother, David Pierson of Tucson, AZ.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm Monday, July 18, 2022 at the Eickhoff Farrand Halverson Chapel in Three Rivers. Funeral services will begin at 2 pm Monday at the funeral home with Rev.
