River cleanup planned for Rocky River

The St. Joseph County Conservation District this weekend is staging the third of its four river cleanup events of 2022.

Carolyn Grace, executive director of the Centreville-based agency and administrator of this summer’s cleanups, said the next event takes place Saturday on the Rocky River, from Null Road in Flowerfield Township to Hank’s Tavern on the River in Three Rivers.

Volunteers should show up by 9:15 a.m. Grace said water, snacks and transportation to and from start points and end points are provided.

The final cleanup of the season is Aug. 29 on the Portage River public access site at Portage Lake in Mendon Township to Parkville Road in Park Township.
