Vicki Lee Yoder, age 63, of Sturgis, passed away Wednesday afternoon, July 13, 2022 at Sturgis Hospital.
She was born October 23, 1958 in Sturgis, daughter of the late Lloyd and Susanna (Holtz) Loudenslager.
Vicki resided in Sturgis for the past 7 years coming from White Pigeon where she lived for many years. She had also lived in Austin, Texas for 5 years and her early life was spent in the Burr Oak, Findlay area and she was a graduate of Colon High School with the class of 1976.
On August 12, 1978 she married Stanley Yoder at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Burr Oak.
Vicki retired from the United States Postal Service following 30 years of dedicated service. She began her service with the Postal service in Oak Hill, Texas and later served the communities of White Pigeon and Sturgis.
She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Sturgis where she could always be counted on to provide her potato salad for church gatherings and funeral luncheons.
She was a care giver who was happiest when she was helping others and she truly loved time surrounded by her family.
She is survived by her loving and dedicated family of 43 years: Stanley; three sons: Michael (Jaime) Yoder of Manchester, Kentucky, Todd (Whitney) Yoder of Union and Ross (Goldie) Yoder of Sturgis; five grandchildren: Payton, Lexi, Grayson, Abigail and Devin; three great grandchildren: Adalyn, Stella and Remi; sister: Pam (Jeff) Thaxton of Colon; brother: Mike (Carole) Loudenslager of Colon; step-mother: Alice Loudenslager of Burr Oak; step-sister: Lori (Larry) Shelton of Burr Oak; step-brother: Gary (Colleen) Clark of Centreville and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two step-brothers: Jerry Weinberg and Larry Weinberg.
In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00 P.M. Sunday, July 24th at the First United Methodist Church in Sturgis were a memorial service celebrating the life of Vicki Lee Yoder will immediately follow the visitation at 3:00 P.M. The Rev. Sue Babb will officiate.
The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
