Wendy Dimmick, 72

Wendy Dimmick, age 72, died peacefully on Saturday, July 9, 2022. She was the daughter of William F and Lydia H (McBarnes) Hicks.  She was born on April 19,1950 in Three Rivers.

Wendy was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Bill and Terry Hicks.

Wendy graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1968. She met Jim Dimmick at the Constantine Park a common hang out in the early 1970’s. Jim loved her long blond hair and Wendy loved Jim’s sense of humor. Jim and Wendy were married October 26, 1974. They spent their lives in Constantine and Fish Lake near White Pigeon.

Wendy had a great sense of style and a giving nature to all who loved her. Her gifts were always gracefully presented, and their contents were amazingly thoughtful. She also enjoyed many hobbies and activities. She lent her hands to ceramics briefly. She enjoyed pre-digital photography and time in the dark room developing photos. Kayaking on rivers, creeks, streams, and lakes were a favorite activity for Wendy. Wendy started the Light Up the Night Celebration on Fish Lake for Labor Day weekend. Jim and Wendy also enjoyed the 4th of July float decoration contests and enjoyed winning a few times. Once they decorated their kayaks with a tree hugger theme. They built trees with animals on kayaks! Wendy was thrilled with that project. There were numerous organized activities on Fish Lake Wendy thoroughly enjoyed. She and Jim befriended and cared for many feline friends. Casey and Elizabeth Ann are their current cats. She loved them all tremendously.

Wendy’s professional life included a variety of subjects such as billing at Clifton Engineering, bookkeeper for the Red Shed, Zone Board Administrator for White Pigeon Township. And most recently she was employed at White Pigeon Township Cemetery for Maintenance.

Survivors include a sister Sharon (Jim) Jones of Mendon, her devoted husband Jim of White Pigeon and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon where Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 15, 2022.  Interment in Constantine Township Cemetery. Donations may be directed to a charity of choice.
